From 3rd May 2021, Handtmann will be presenting a multitude of innovations and enhancements at the virtual Handtmann FoodTec. The innovations were developed for the food sectors meat, meat substitutes, bakery, vegetarian and vegan, dairy, confectionery, pet food and many others. The new developments can be used by start-ups, small-scale, medium-scale and industrial producers for the full-variety production of food trends, such as snacking and convenience products.

The core area of expertise of filling and portioning will see the presentation of the new VF 820 and VF 828 S vacuum filler models for small-scale, medium-scale and industrial producers. Both models feature the latest hygienic design. Automated pre- and intermediate cleaning programs and the optionally integrated UVC degermination module guarantee excellent hygienic production conditions. Numerous equipment options, additional functions and modules as well as digital features provide flexibility for a wide range of applications. Integration in complex line solutions down to the packaging unit is easily possible. Both models guarantee excellent product quality and accurate-to-the-gram portioning precision in the processing of chunky, firmer, pasty and fluid products.

All-in-one: The new FS 525 forming and cutting system combines two different forming principles and thus achieves unprecedented flexibility in industrial applications: The hole plate moulding technique allows the production of free-formed 3D products. The rotary cutter allows the production of different cross-sections with a straight cut. In case of product changes, the forming technology is easily changed in only 3 minutes and takes only a few manual operations. The system was awarded this year’s International FoodTec Award in silver.

The new DS 552 depositing system is a valve-free, depositing system for the precise and safe dosing of of fluid to viscous products on up to 24 lanes. The innovative dosing principle with return suction - without any filling pistons and valves - can dose fluid to semi-viscous filling products with precision and process reliability with up to 200 cycles per minute. A continuous, high-performance process for the industrial production into trays and thermo-forming packagings or onto dough sheet systems. The patented, servo-driven flow divider in the depositing system ensures a constant product flow without pressure fluctuations, resulting in most accurate weights in every single lane. Spreads, delicatessen salads, pesto, creams and fillings, liver sausage, smoked sausage spread, pies, cream cheese, herb butter, dips, ready meals and more are dosed in countless variations with to-the-gram accuracy and in first-class quality. A large selection of dosing nozzles further extends the wide range of products. The DV 85-1 dosing valve is ideally suited for dosing and separating pasty and fluid products as well as products with chunky inserts. Hot fillings up to 90 degrees Celsius and various outlet variants further expand the scope for product and production. Dosing is optimally possible in portion sizes of 3 to 1,000 g in different types of containers, such as tubs, trays, thermo-forming packagings and jars or as dosing of toppings. The simple operation and ergonomic design of the dosing valve with individually adjustable working height ensures fatigue-free working. It is also the only manually operated dosing valve on the market that can guarantee CE-compliant, safe working at all times – with or without the use of round or star-shaped nozzles.

In combination with a VF 800 portioning machine, the new SE 442-1 cutting unit is a single-lane dough dividing system for industrial use in baked goods production. The processing of mixed wheat and wheat dough, even with higher dough yield, is efficiently possible. The system achieves perfect results in the production of toast and pizza dough. The dough dividing is oil-free, which reduces flaws in the baked items and costs. The portioning machine’s high-precision vane cell feed system and the precise separating with the rotary cutter guarantee permanently accurate-to-the-gram weights for each dough piece.
